Transitioning from Ozempic to Wegovy
With the manufacturer unable to provide sufficient supply of your current medication (Ozempic), a new script is required to continue your program using Wegovy.
The Wegovy program, including medication delivered and consultations, is $345 every 4 weeks*.
You have three options:
Option 1
Request a new Wegovy script to continue your weight management program
With your consent, we’ll have your nurse practitioner at CU Health issue a new script.
Option 2
Discuss with your CU Health nurse practitioner
You can book a free consultation to learn more about Wegovy and run through any questions before requesting a new script.
Option 3
Discontinue your Chemist2U weight management program
If you choose not to proceed, no further action is required.
The program cost of $345 includes consultations and Wegovy ‘starter’ dosages (0.25mg, 0.5mg or 1.0mg). If a script for higher dosages is required this cost will increase. The 1.7mg program cost is $455 per 4 weeks and 2.4mg program cost is $525 per 4 weeks.
Your program otherwise remains unchanged
- Auto-payments (using your card on file) will continue, with your next payment due 26 days from your last delivery
- Reminders are sent the day before each auto payment is due
- Nurse practitioner consultations continue
- A valid Medicare card is required
- Orders shipped in a temperature control box in keeping with the manufacturer’s guidelines which allow Wegovy to be stored between 8°C and 30°C for up to 28 days
- Cancel any time with 30 days notice.
We’ve kept the cost as low as possible

Your program otherwise remains unchanged
Your nurse practitioner from CU Health, has recommended transitioning to Wegovy. As it contains the same active ingredient (Semaglutide) as your current medication (Ozempic), CU Health’s clinical team anticipates a smooth transition without affecting your progress. Your dosage will remain aligned with your existing treatment plan.
Still got questions?
Why are you unable to continue offering the Ozempic program?.
There has been a significant shortage of Ozempic across Australia. Chemist2U gives priority of available supply to program members such as yourself. But the situation has worsened over the past two weeks and, with no indication of adequate future stock from the manufacturer, we can no longer offer the Ozempic program.
Will the monthly program cost increase?
The monthly program cost will increase if higher doses are prescribed by your practitioner, as follows:
- 0.25mg, 0.5mg or 1.0mg Wegovy – $345 every 4 weeks
- 1.7mg – program cost increases to $455 every 4 weeks
- 2.4mg – program cost increases to $525 every 4 weeks.
When will my Wegovy arrive?
If you request a new script promptly (using the form towards the top of this page) there is a high likelihood you will receive your Wegovy before your current medication (Ozempic) runs out. Auto-payment will be taken from you card on file a few days prior and we will remind you the day before this is happening.
How do I change my payment card?
To update your payment card details, contact our customer service team via web chat (bottom right of your screen).
Do I need a consultation with my nurse practitioner to be issued with a new script?
No. Your nurse practitioner at our telehealth partner, CU Health, has recommended you transition to Wegovy. As it contains the same active ingredient (semaglutide) as Ozempic, CU Health’s clinical team anticipates a smooth transition without affecting your progress. Your dosage will remain aligned with your existing treatment plan.
But, if you have questions about this change to your program you should book a consultation with a nurse practitioner. We have added a short consultation (free of additional charge) for this purpose which is available here.
Will I receive brand Wegovy?
Yes. Chemist2U only supplies brand Wegovy.
What happens after I request a new script for Wegovy?
Your nurse practitioner will issue the script and send it to Chemist2U so your Wegovy medication can be delivered to you as per your program schedule.
We will take payment a few days before your delivery is due, sending you a reminder the day before the payment is due.
Can I stop when I want?
You can cancel your program at any time with 30 days notice.
What do I do if I wish to discontinue my Chemist2U weight management plan?
Nothing! If you choose not to proceed, no further action is required.
What can I expect from my consultation with the dietitian?
Your program includes a consultation with a qualified dietitian at CU Health where you will discuss your diet plan and its essential role in your weight loss program.
In combination with your weight loss medication, the guidance of an expert dietitian will help you achieve your weight loss goals.
How is my medication shipped?
Your order will be shipped following the manufacturer’s guidelines which allow it to be stored between 8°C and 30°C for up to 28 days.
To ensure this temperature range is maintained, your order will be shipped in an insulated box, with a cold pack inside (subject to ambient temperatures), ensuring your medication arrives in perfect condition.
